The Winfield Brothers
The three sons of Calgary Jewish pioneers John and Sophie (Sereth) Weinfield served in World War II.
All were born and raised in Calgary.

Joseph Winfield - 1942
Gunner Joseph Winfield (1920 - 1994) served in the RCAF and the Merchant Marine before joining the Canadian Army. He
landed in Normandy on D-Day-plus-Two with the Royal Canadian Artillery.

Irwin Winfield spent World War II with the Canadian Merchant Marine Service. He helped evacuate British troops from
Crete in 1941 on the CPR's Empress of Russia.
