on 38th Avenue S.W. Fanny Katchen was the
eldest Karsh daughter. She came to Canada
first and sent for her father in 1911. Her
mother Ida and children travelled from
                        					Russia later.

and Ann Dworkin arrived in Calgary in 1913
from Gomel, Russia, where he had been a
herbalist. Unable to practice his profession or
to adjust to life in Canada, he left his family
and moved to Palestine where he was killed
in an Arab uprising in 1926. He is buried on
the Mount of Olives. His wife remained in
Calgary and supported the family by taking
                        					in boarders.
