A video of this presentation can be found on the Chicago JCC youtube page.
The Chicago JCC is hosting online programs highlighting the history of other localities. Our archivist, Roberta Kerr, will present an updated version of her 2017 talk, sharing stories surrounding some of the individuals included in the Southern Alberta Jewish Veterans of World War I & II Database. These stories are largely based on information gleaned from veterans’ attestation papers that have been accessed through Library and Archives Canada, and from the research process. They are at once unique to each individual, and fundamentally universal. In order to attend this international event, you must register online with the Chicago JCC. Contact our office with any questions.
Roberta Kerr has been a contract archivist and independent researcher for over 15 years. Before taking on her current role as Archivist at Jewish Historical Society of Southern Alberta, she worked for a wide range of public and private archives and organizations, with a particular interest in the history of rural and cultural communities. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from York University.
