The Official Opening Of Three Star Service Station On The North Side Of 9th Avenue W. Between 1st and 2nd Streets
November, 1938
This was the third service station opened in 1938 by M.T. (Ted) Riback and his partner Ed Lovo. Their first station was the most renowned - Ed & Ted's - on the corner of 11th Avenue and 1st Street W. Both Ted and Ed had worked at this station when it was called the Blue Boys Imperial Service Station. They bought it from E.A. McCullough of Maclin Motors. Ted borrowed the money, putting up the family furniture for collateral, from Ben Maerov. Another station Ed and Ted owned was Central Park Service Station on 12th Avenue and 4th Street W., and there was a small "gas only" outlet in a park along the Elbow River near the Stampede grounds.
