Soon after enlistment was taken prisoner and spent 6 months in Russian prison camp before escaping. Returned to Warsaw and joined Jewish Underground in Warsaw Ghetto October 1940-April 1943. Captured and interned by Germany in May 1943; escaped to Switzerland in 1944, served as interpreter to Swiss Justice Department.
