Left to right: Mair Madorsky, Sam Aisenstat

1913 Mair travelled from Russia to Canada
with his three brothers-in-law, leaving his
wife (Alta Aisenstat) and daughter to join
him later. Having heard of "streets paved
with gold," Mair first worked for the CPR,
while the Aisenstats did farm labour.
